LaGuardia - Terminal C, Gate 2

It's a beautiful spring day in NYC and we're finally here at the gate waiting to board our first of what will be 30+ flights.  From here, we're off to Charlotte where we make our connection to Rio!  Backpacks are packed and checked...Sara's weighing in at a lean 35 pounds, John's at a trim 33 (not a bad packing job for 2.5 months of travel if we do say so ourselves).  We look forward to the adventures that lay ahead and will keep you updated from "the field"...Peace!!

So Much To Do, So Much Time

After weeks and weeks of intense planning (punctuated by journeys to Idaho, Utah, Texas, Nevada, and California) the trip is starting to come together. The route has been determined, flights have been purchased...and that's about it. We have good intentions of being productive and making things happen, but we often end up buried in travel books or led astray by endless Google searches. We also may or may not have spent two or three hours coming up with a blog playlist. At least we know how to prioritize. We will be booking places to stay and making domestic flight plans over the next few days so please comment with any feedback on must-see destinations or lodging ideas. Also, if anyone has any villas in Santorini or condos in Tokyo, we would like to point out that we make excellent house guests ;-)

AROUND THE WORLD IN APPROX 80 DAYS

After months of dreaming and planning, World Tour 2010 is about to commence.  Over a span of approximately 80 days, John Nelson and I will be visiting Brazil, Argentina, New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Morocco, Spain, and England (and maybe a few surprise countries along the way).  We are excited that several of our friends will also be joining us for various legs of the trip.  This is going to be an amazing adventure and we hope you enjoy following us on our journey.  We'll try to post lots of pictures and we will even have a few contests along the way (trust me, the prizes will be amazing).

May 7th is when all the fun begins!!!!
